Mark Howland

Failing to plan is planning to Fail

Polson, Montana

Mark is a proud United States veteran who served nearly 23 years in the world’s greatest Air Force. He enjoyed an outstanding career both as Enlisted and an Officer, and was fortunate to experience many amazing places around the world.

Mark is very outgoing and cheerful. He is passionate about the outdoors – hunting, fishing and just about anything else that gets him outside.

Small Town Story:

Mark grew up in the small town of Baker, Oregon. His home town upbringing has greatly contributed to who he is today – strong values, integrity and “small town” friendly. He’s a pretty darn likable guy. Like many rural Oregon towns, the collapse of the Timber industry in the mid 80’s had a big impact on his home town. However, he remembers how it made his community stronger in many ways. Mark is well travelled, and has never called any place but Baker home.

Community Service:

  • In support of his love for the outdoors and wildlife, Mark has been a longtime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

  • Bachelors of Science in Fire Science Management- Southern Illinois University at Carbondale
  • 2- Associates of Science Degrees from the Community College of the Air Force
