Robin Pleninger

Documentation Manager

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.

– Amelia Earhart

Polson, Montana

Robin is the very definition of an old soul, a trait that felt like a burden growing up but one that she whole-heartedly embraces as an adult. During her first four years at Black Mountain Software, Robin’s sole focus was on supporting and training BMS’ accounting software clients. In this role, she became known for having a keen eye for detail and a natural talent for writing. In 2012, Robin accepted the challenge of revamping the BMS Online Help documentation in addition to her regular support duties. Not long after beginning this endeavor she realized she would be able to work much more efficiently if she knew HTML, so she asked permission to purchase a book, read it cover to cover, and threw herself head first into the world of HTML and CSS. In 2015, Robin was promoted to Documentation Manager and began working in the documentation world full time. Many people are appreciative of the persistence and enthusiasm Robin shows every day in the quest to enable clients to confidently leave their old printed manuals behind and instead access the most current, up-to-the-minute information online at all times.

Small Town Story:

Robin is a native Montanan who grew up in a town with a population of roughly 400 people. Robin loves the small town life but never imagined herself remaining in the area that she grew up in due to a lack of employment opportunities. After graduating from college, she lived and worked in Kalispell for a couple of years. She met her husband while visiting with some friends in Polson, and not too long after that she found herself seeking employment in the Mission Valley so she could move closer to him and her family. She was both terrified and honored when she was hired for a customer support position at Black Mountain Software in 2007, but now she feels like she is right where she is meant to be. She lives with her husband and two small children in her dream location just outside of Ronan, with plenty of room to roam and an awesome view of the Mission Mountains.
