MMCT/FOA and MCTA Attendees Express Appreciation

Upon arriving to the office today, we were delighted to receive acknowledgement for our recent efforts.

At Black Mountain Software, we strive to deliver software and client support that is second to none. And, when “how-to” and “know-how” converge, and the outcome builds knowledge, confidence and empowerment – well, that’s a valuable experience.

It was wonderful to share and learn with all who attended our recent MMCT/FOA Annual Users’ Meeting and the MCTA Treasurers recertification class.

Gratitude is greatest when shared by all.

Thank you, for appreciating us.

Black Mountain Software Teams Up to Clean Up! Green Up!

In conjunction with the Polson Chamber of Commerce and The Beautification Committee of Envision Polson, Black Mountain Software contributed to the annual Clean Up! Green Up! event on Friday, April 24.

The first step to having a beautiful, welcoming community that we are all proud of is to have it trash free. Black Mountain Software ‘Green Team’ volunteers spent their Friday evening picking up trash along a two mile stretch of the Polson walking path from O’Reilly Auto Parts to Mission Valley Auto.

Both Black Mountain Software offices are located in beautiful, picturesque Montana regions. Conserving, reusing, recycling, and being mindful of our environment and planet are everyday practices at Black Mountain Software. Read more >

Conference Swag: How to Re-Use Your BMS Mint Tin

We’re all well-versed in “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” but how familiar are you with 20 Ways to Use Your Empty Mint Tin? Well, we’ve come up with a list for just that because Black Mountain Software will be giving away 2,000 tins of mints at conferences across the US in 2015 (see also, “How to Re-purpose Your BMS Conference Coffee Mug“)!

When all of the tasty mints are gone, there will be a lot of people wondering what to do with the tin. Whether it’s a mint tin or municipal or school accounting software, we want to help you get the most out of everything you get from Black Mountain Software. Read more >

13 Ways to Re-purpose Your BMS Coffee Mug

Through the years, Black Mountain Software has established a reputation of showing up at municipal and school conferences with some pretty creative promotional items. We wouldn’t want you to think we’ve fallen off the creative bandwagon when we begin to unpack and stack coffee mugs at our conference booth table this year, so we would like to suggest some clever, innovative ways to use the Black Mountain Software coffee mug.

While the first idea isn’t terribly imaginative, we think it will be popular; our creativity really begins to peak around item No. 11!

Black Mountain Software Grows Hair to Grow Awareness

PiggyBank-cash01319In Montana, and more specifically at Black Mountain Software in Polson and Helena, the arrival of winter weather and the proliferation of men’s facial hair growth has long been correlated. But in recent years mo’ (moustache) and beard growth during the month of November has taken on a meaning beyond warmth. The cultural phenomena known as Movember and No Shave November are now often the driving force – meaning you might want to give the next hairy man you pass on the street a high-five and thank him for raising awareness for men’s health issues. During Movember, moustaches become walking, talking billboards that spark conversation and fundraising for major men’s health concerns such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. Happy Holiday Cards

Mike-UB Favorite_MG_8019“That time of year” rolls around so quickly.

Time to haul out the boxes of holiday decorations. Time to bring out the winter attire. Time to look at schedules and figure out dates when everyone can get together. Yes, I’m talking about … September!

“September?” You say. Yes, that’s when the Black Mountain Software holiday prep begins. That’s because Black Mountain Software has a fairly long (both in years and preparation) tradition of mailing holiday cards featuring staff photos to our clients, prospective clients, business partners, and vendors. We are a friendly, small-town company and many of our staff members work one-on-one with our clients, so a stuffy corporate holiday card just doesn’t seem to fit our style very well. Read more >

Black Mountain Software’s “Nerd Herd” Does the Dirty Dash

by: David Tyler, Director of Marketing & Communications

Sept. 9, 2014

When the alarm went off at 7:00 a.m. last Saturday morning, my first thought was of my Black Mountain Software coworkers. It wasn’t a typical Saturday morning. It was the morning that the BMS “Nerd Herd” would assemble and take on The Dirty Dash challenge.

What is the BMS Nerd Herd? Contrary to rumor, it is not a department within Black Mountain Software. Because nearly everyone who works at BMS is either into technology or accounting (yep, a little nerdy), it seemed like a good name for a team assembled from various departments for the purpose of participating in an obstacle course run. “Life is Sweet with Black Mountain Software” Contest Winner Announced

We are excited to announce Codey Stocks as the winner of our “Life is Sweet with Black Mountain Software” prize drawing!  Codey is the Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Dixon, Wyoming, which just happens to be a relatively new client of Black Mountain Software. The Town of Dixon purchased our utility billing and government financial accounting software this past summer, and Codey is currently in training on these products. She didn’t enter the drawing until November 7th, after receiving a reminder email that the contest end date was nearing.

On Monday, November 18th, when Codey’s name was drawn from the 145 entries we received through our online entry form, we knew we had to involve Donna Steele in the announcement.  Donna is one of our Customer Support Specialists who has been training Codey on the BMS Accounting products.
