Biography
Jake was born and raised in Sparks, NV before packing up and heading to the Pacific Northwest with his family in 2004. There, he mainly divided his time between his studies and going deaf whilst sliding around the beer and sweat-slick concrete floors of every small, underground music venue Seattle had to offer.
After graduating from Western Washington University in 2014, he took a year-and-a-half to align his chi and look for a career. Just when he was about to give up hope and succumb to the velvety complacencies of apathy and stagnation, Black Mountain Software came calling and Jake jumped at the opportunity to put his nerdy English skills to work in a constructive way (i.e. get paid to use them).
While his head hasn’t stopped spinning after how quickly his life changed, he is thankful for how smooth his transition has been, taking it as a sign he is where he is supposed to be; motivated by all the new stimulation Montana has to offer; and eager to embrace whatever comes his way.
Small Town Story
Prior to moving to Polson, Jake worked as a mop jockey in a small town school district to pay his way through school. While he enjoyed his job and the folks he worked with, he was never too enthused about the town itself and thoroughly enjoyed the fact that he could escape every night and rest his head twenty lovely miles away.
Polson, on the other hand, he digs.
“Everyone I’ve met has been really cool so far. The whole town has a pretty chill vibe, so it could definitely be worse. Haven’t been carjacked yet!”
