Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you.

Growing up moving back and forth between Livingston, MT and Minneapolis, MN gave Katie a great balance between city and small-town life. Spending every summer in Livingston and taking trips with her Grandparents gave her a unique perspective on life and an old-school work ethic. After graduating high school, she decided to put school on hold and do a little exploring on the East Coast. Working as a nanny in Boston and Washington D.C. enabled her to do a lot of traveling here and abroad. It was an incredible experience, but ultimately, she ended up working her way back home to Montana via customer service jobs in Minneapolis, Tacoma, and Salt Lake. She discovered over the years that she really had a passion for helping people and trying to make their lives easier. She recently left a company she worked at for 11 years to come back to Montana. It was a scary decision, but it led her here to BMS and she is very proud to be part of the team.

Small town story

Of all the places Katie has lived she has always been a Montana girl. It’s home. If she lived somewhere she couldn’t see mountains every day, she’d be lost. She always knew she would come back, so when the opportunity to move to Polson presented itself, she knew it was time to come home.

Finishing high school in Livingston was a very cool experience because she got to have some of the same teachers that her parents, aunts, and uncles had.

She went back to Livingston once for a wedding and was introduced to a couple. When they asked her about her family ties to the town, they all realized that her Grandpa had given this man his job at the railroad years ago. He was so excited to meet her and thank someone in the family for her Grandpa giving him a shot and turning his life around. You definitely don’t get connections like that in a large city.

Community Service

Katie is very new to the Polson area and hasn’t gotten involved in anything locally. In the past she has volunteered for Humane Society walking dogs, served meals at homeless shelters, and donated holiday gifts to children in need.
